Welcome to the Computational Microbiome Research page where we write about our classes' experience! For this class, students are learning new computational tools and are expanding their knowledge on bioinformatics. This research program is geared to undergraduate students who are looking for a bioinformatics research experience. The team who created this course come largely from the Microbiome Analysis Center on the Prince William Campus. The course was conducted in Dr. Gillevet's computer lab and heavily used his pipeline. Masi's sequencing using the ion torrent was the data that was analyzed. Dr. Schwebach is the course sponsor.  Jasmine and Sarah organized the course and selected specific curriculum. Austin worked closely with Jasmine and Sarah to ensure that the material would be accessible to the students as all the other course contributors are guilty of speaking in "techno babble."

Dr.Patrick Gillevet, Masoumeh Sikaroodi "Masi", Jasmine Amirzadegan, Dr. Reid Schwebach, Sarah Vanderplas and Austin Warner (not pictured).
